Since it was initiated in 2009, the U.S.-German Summer School in International and Comparative Law has earned a global reputation for excellence. The U.S.-German Summer School in International and Comparative Law is the flagship of law programs in international high-quality teaching at the Law School.

We are proud to be the host to students from all over the world again this summer. Our courses, all of them taught in English, are designed to challenge and inspire you in highly popular fields of international and comparative law.

The course combines high-quality learning with a wide range of cultural and social activities. In addition to the academic program, two overnight field trips to Munich and Berlin will add a more hands-on element to the content learned in class.

Recreational field trips will show students some of the most beautiful places in Germany. In addition, students are encouraged to attend German language courses. The schedule leaves free time for participants to explore Germany and other European countries on their own. Located in the heart of Europe, Giessen is the perfect starting point for short trips to Paris, London or Prague. Above all, studying abroad will help participants broaden their horizons by bringing them closer to foreign cultures and – most important – is fun!

We hope you will take the full advantage of the high quality, the truly international flavor, and the numerous opportunities that the U.S.-German Summer School in International and Comparative Law offers.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Giessen for the 4th U.S.-German Summer School in International and Comparative Law.
